Nigeria has recovered the black boxes of an helicopter that crashed into a lagoon in the economic capital Lagos, killing six, including the American pilot, a spokesman for its air accident investigation agency said.
"We have recovered the flight recorders, known as the black boxes of the ill-fated helicopter. The black boxes will assist us to unravel the cause of the accident," Tunji Oketunbi of the Accident Investigation Bureau told AFP.
Six people, including Captain Jay Wyatt, the American pilot, were killed while six others survived the crash and were being treated in the hospital.
Texas-based Bristow's fleet of around 500 helicopters services the global energy industry.
It has operations in Nigeria and most other major regions of the world producing offshore oil and gas.
