Bishop David Oyedepo

Over the years, and in spite of several cries of marginalization by indigenes and residents of  Ado-odo/Ota by the government of Ogun State, the people seem not to get attention particularly in the areas of road infrastructures from past and present governments.
The government of Senator of Ibikunle Amosun in his first term had embarked on reconstruction of some few kilometers within the core environment of the ancient town of Ota. Though yet to be completed after five years.

Investigations by yemojanewsng.com reveal that Governor Amosun’s reconstruction effort is yet to have any effect on the many communities in the local government owing to the neglect of some vital link roads that are very important to the commercial activities of the local government regarded as the economic nerve center of the state.

But there seems to be a relief from discomfort of bad roads in the commercial nerves of Ogun State as Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of the Faith Living Tabernacle a.k.a Winners Chapel is presently rehabilitating and reconstructing most of the road.

The major roads the popular man of God is working on are the long-abandoned Joju link road, several parts of Ota-Idiroko road (ECOWAS road),  Atan –Agbara 17 kilometer road among others.
The bishop of the people took the bull by the horn by pumping over 100 million naira on the projects.
It has been encomium galore for Bishop Oyedepo as residents and several indigenes of Ota have been commending him for making life easier for them.
Mr Abiodun Abiola, a civil engineer and a staunch member of highly revered Ota Club told yemojanewsng.com that, “the Bishop’s kind gift of road construction in Ota town is highly appreciated and will not be forgotten for a long time.’’

The Ogun State based civil engineer also commended the quality of job done so far. He said “The Bishop has done so well for us in Ota. He did not just rehabilitate or reconstruct our roads, but the quality of job done is awesome.”
Another resident also applaud the gesture of Bishop Oyedepo. Mr Olusoji who claimed to have been residing in Ota for over three decades said “we will need little of government’s support if we can have more kind hearted philanthropists like Bishop Oyedepo.”
“It is surprising that any government can abandon an industrial town like Ota. It is on record that Ado-Odo Ota local government is the second most industrialized local government in Nigeria.
“But unfortunately, this town has always been lacking in basic amenities and physical development ever since I relocated here from Lagos.
“Ado-odo/Ota generates the highest revenue for the state but unlike other major towns in the state, it is so sad to see Ota  lagging behind in areas of physical development due to negligence from the past and present  governments of Ogun State.’’ Mr Olusoji stated.
Yemojanewsng.com further findings however revealed there are over 20 major link roads within Ado-odo/Ota begging for rehabilitation or reconstruction.
The major link roads include Iju-Ilogbo road, Papa Aro road, Itele road, Animashahun-Bredero road, Ewupe road, Ilogbo road and Owode-Ijako road.
Others are Arigbabu-Adalemo road, Temidire road, Plaza road, Tarmac-Johnson market road, Iloye road,  Singha-Oju oore road, Anglican road, Ilo Idimu road, Igbesa road among others.
