Pan Nigeria Limited has unveiled a new Peugeot 508, which comes with a major facelift expected to tickle the fancy of the people, particularly its target buyers – young chief executive officers.
The assemblers of Peugeot vehicles in Nigeria said the re-modelled Peugeot 508 had been specially packaged for the driving pleasure of its teaming customers.
Unveiled at the new car at NAF Conference Centre in Abuja, Pan Nigeria said the vehicle was wholly assembled at its Kaduna plant.
Specifically, it said the new 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine car had been equipped with key value propositions and met the Euro five emission standard, making it environment friendly.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive of PAN Nigeria, Alhaji Ibrahim Boyi, said in addition to the outstanding qualities, the new 508 came with enhanced fuel economy, automatic LED lightening system for better night vision, auto brake system, and touch screen control panel, making it a full multi-media car.
He said, “I travelled to and from Kaduna to Abuja two times on a full tank of petrol with this car. And as you are sitting at the back, you can shut down your AC and the other people will not be complaining, this is the beauty of this car. It has facilities for tea, coffee and all your drinks; it has so many options and the car is very roomy for executives. When you sit at the back, you have so much room.”
Also commenting on the agreement with Pan Nigeria, Afolayan said it was meant to promote the Peugeot brand and described the new 508 Sedan as a machine deserving the attention of all upwardly mobile chief executive officers and indeed every car lover.
”Sincerely, this is as the Germans will call it, a machine. It is well balanced; the sun is scorching and still you can feel the cool breeze in the car. All the buttons and all the electronics make the car lovely that an average car lover should have not only because of the look but for the safety capacity that it has,” he said.
Afolayan, who drove away from the event in the new 508 sedan, said the agreement was one year contract duration, which could be renewed on expiration.
“This deal is for a year. After this year, maybe they will renew and maybe the relationship will continue, I believe in sustainability,” he said.
The new Peugeot 508 would feature prominently in a new movie called, ‘The CEO,’ he said, adding that he had to reach out to Pan Nigeria before they started shooting the movie because of his love to promote everything Nigerian.
The Head, Marketing Pan Nigeria, Shepuya Icha, expressed optimism that the new Peugeot 508 would be an instant success in the Nigeria market.
According to her, apart from enhanced performance, the car parades more distinguishable features than the previous edition, stressing that the front grill just below the bonnet is a distinctive Peugeot logo, while the bonnet is a little wider than the old one.
The launch of the new Peugeot 508 Sedan was witnessed by many stakeholders in the automotive industry, including the Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, Aminu Jalal; the representative of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Services, Mr. Tajudeen Olarewaju, among others.
