Malam Yahya Al-Yolawi, the Chief Imam of Garki Area 10 Juma’at Mosque, Abuja, has admonished Muslims to observe the forthcoming Ramadan fast with sincerity to enjoy immense blessings associated with the act.
Al-Yolawi gave the admonition on Friday while delivering his Juma’at sermon at the mosque.
He said that the sincere acts of worship during the month of Ramadan were capable of erasing sins of the previous year.
“The holy month for fasting was named Ramadan because it burns the sins of people with righteous deeds.
“Whoever observes sincere fasting and other acts of worship out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards he will have his past sins forgiven,’’ he said.
The cleric said that Ramadan, which is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, always came with multiple blessings and forgiveness.
He said that fasting was recommended by Allah because it had capacity of increasing our piety and protecting us from evil.
“Fasting in the month of Ramadan increases our piety, protects us from hell fire and gives us access to paradise,’’ he reminded the faithful.
He also enjoined Muslims to observe sincere repentance in the forthcoming month of Ramadan so as to enjoy its full benefits.
