How petty rivalry is tearing Sokoto’s governor’s quarters apart
Trouble looms in Sokoto State’s governor’s quarters. Like a jungle echoing to the calls of vicious jealousies and ruthless combat, Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s household may erupt in vile and protracted conflict. And the reason is not farfetched.
A rivalry contest between Tambuwal’s first and second wives may snowball into something worse in the coming months. That Aminu Tambuwal married a second wife, Mairo, some months ago is no longer news. It would be recalled that no sooner did he marry Mairo than she took charge of the office of ‘first lady.’ She was everywhere, representing her husband and doing the needful.She even travelled with the President’s wife , Aisha, for foreign events. They referred to her as a stylish first lady.
But some days ago, Tambuwal’s first wife was given an award as the most performing first lady. This brings us to the question: Are they competing? Who is the real ‘first lady’ of the two women in the life of Governor Tambuwal?
Is it not a waste of state resources to run two offices for the wives of his Excellency? Of course they would have SAs, escorts, drivers, projects and all. These may become unnecessary waste to Sokoto state, especially in these hard times. Source: The Capital NG
