Lagos NURTW leader, Epo Kinkin shot dead at APC rally



The Vice-Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State Samuel Kayode who was popularly known as Epo Kinkin, has been reportedly shot dead  at All Progressives Congress (APC) rally on Thursday.

Reports said Kayode was attacked by unidentified gunmen when he attended the APC public gathering at the Agboju area of Lagos State.

A gunshot was heard at the meeting as residents and crowds at the rally hurriedly left the hall, sources were quoted to have said.

The deceased was later found in a pool of blood inside the hall where the rally was held.

Jimoh Buhari, the spokesman for Lagos State NURTW chairman Musilu Akisanya ‘MC Oluomo’, confirmed the incident.

“He was protecting a fellow politician, Wale Yusuf, from harassment when the gunmen shot him dead,” he said.

The Lagos state police command is yet to issue a press statement on the incident.
