Hillary Clinton’s possible election this week to America’s highest office has raised a sticky question: What’s the best way to refer to the president’s male spouse?
There have only ever been male presidents in the United States with female spouses. One president, James Buchanan, remained a lifelong bachelor.

What Donald Trump's Tax Returns Won't Tell Us, But Hillary Clinton's Do

Voters would like to poke through Donald Trump’s tax returns, but they can’t. After some earlier waffling and mixed signals, Trump’s camp now seems firm that his big tax audit prevents him from releasing his returns. Outside of a Presidential campaign, his audit defense is a pretty good one, whatever the IRS or the public might say. A letter from Trump’s tax lawyers confirmed there was an ongoing tax audit for 2009 and later. Anyone who has ever been through a tax audit might have some sympathy.

Hillary Clinton on Wednesday sternly warned her Republican presidential rival Donald Trump about his “casual inciting” of violence, saying his startling remarks suggesting gun rights supporters could act against her “crossed the line.”
It was the Democratic nominee’s most forceful denunciation after Trump caused a firestorm by suggesting to supporters in North Carolina on Tuesday that “Second Amendment people” — those who support gun rights — could take action to stop Clinton from appointing US Supreme Court justices as president.

Democrat Clinton makes history, wins U.S. presidential nomination

Hillary Clinton secured the Democratic Party's White House nomination, coming back from a stinging defeat in her first presidential run in 2008 and surviving a bitter primary fight to become the first woman to head the ticket of a major party in U.S. history.
In a symbolic show of party unity, Clinton's former rival, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, told the chairwoman from the convention floor that Clinton, 68, should be selected as the party's nominee at the dramatic climax of a state-by-state roll call at the Democratic convention in Philadelphia.

How Michelle Obama Turned Donald Trump’s Vision Of America Upside Down

The first lady’s powerful speech staked a claim to optimism — and patriotism.
