Indian police arrest six men for gang-raping teen

Indian Police said on Tuesday in New Delhi that they had arrested six men for the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl.
Police Officer, Arvind Kumar, said the Delhi-based teenager said she had traveled to the western city of Jaipur, after she had been promised employment as a security guard.
“She was taken to a hotel room where 10 men, including the manager, sexually assaulted her.”
Kumar said she managed to escape and filed the complaint, after which the arrests were made.
“The attack occurred on August 30 and medical tests confirmed rape.”
India has been under the spotlight in recent years over the incidents of sexual violence against women.
In 2012, the fatal gang rape of a student on a bus in New Delhi led to a massive public outcry and tougher laws.
Recently, three men were sentenced to 20 years in jail for the gang rape of a Japanese tourist in Jaipur
