Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Nasarawa state chapter, has rejected the plan by the State Government to pay its workers their August salaries through table payment.
“If the government refuses to adhere to the terms of agreement reached with the union to pay workers through their respective banks; we would go on strike.
“This is what we can do in order to prevent the stress and the undue delays in the payments of our August salaries,’’ he said.
He said that there was need for the government to respect the agreement reached on the mode of payment of the salaries.
Adeka maintained that this was necessary in order to sustain the existing industrial harmony in the state.
“We have already agreed that salaries would be paid through the banks and anything short of what we agreed on, the union would not take it lightly,’’ he said.
He, therefore, advised workers in the state not to turnout for any scheduled table payments.
NAN reports that Dr Dominic Bako, the state’s Head of Civil Service on Sept. 4, said all workers in the state would receive their salaries through table payments.
