Aisha Buhari Campaigns against Malnutrition rates among children in IDPs camps

 

The wife of the President, Her Excellency, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has appealed to the Governors of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States, to urgently do something about the nutritional status of babies and children in various IDP camps. 

She is grieved as a mother that children could be going through such appalling conditions in the country.

Mrs Buhari realizes that malnutrition rates among children are at a serious level in different camps, where large number of people displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency are gathered.

it is important to note that even under normal circumstances children have specialized nutritional needs.

This in effect underscores the importance of highly specialized nutritional support for this category of children.

Her Excellency further commended Akinwunmi Ambode, Governor of Lagos State for donating N150 million to the Governments of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe to assist them in the rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs)
