INEC declares APC’s Bello Kogi governor-elect

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alh. Yahaya Bello has been declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as the winner of the Kogi governorship election.
APC polled 247,752 votes to defeat the

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which came second with 204,877 votes. This is in addition to yesterday’s supplementary poll, where the APC polled 6885 votes to beat the PDP which polled 5363 votes.
The Chief Returning Officer for the
election, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha, while declaring the results in Lokoja, stated that having fulfilled all legal requirements, Alh. Yahaya Bello is declared winner of the election and Kogi
Governor-Elect.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of
Agriculture, Makurdi, held, “That Yahaya Bello, having polled the highest number of votes and satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby returned elected.”
