Conduct Referendum on Nigeria, Niger Delta Avengers Tell Buhari

…..the group wants Buhari to visit the region
Coming hard on the heels of Britain exit from the European Union, the rampaging Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to conduct a referendum to determine the future of Nigerians.
 The demand posted on their Twitter handle @NDAvengers Saturday afternoon, referred to the exit of Britain from the EU on Friday, through a popular vote resulting the resignation of its Prime Minister, David Cameron.
 The shadowy group which has declared a Niger Delta Republic wants the President to learn from the historic exit of Britain and allow dissenting regions to go their separate ways without recourse to bloodletting.
 “President Buhari borrow a leaf from PM David Cameron, call for a referendum and let Nigerians decide like they did to vote you into power,” the tweet read.
 In another tweet showing a fragmented pictorial map of Nigeria showing various regions, the group, which has almost cripple the economy said: “Nigerian President should call for a referendum to enable every Nigerian to vote if they want to stay as Nigerians or not, just like David Cameron of Great Britain.”
 The demand has been  rewetted  465 with 172 likes even as mixed reactions have been trailing them.
 A tweet by @legendury_L£X,  advised Buhari to toe the line of the United Kingdom Prime Minister,  David Cameron and call for a referendum and let Nigerians decides like they did to vote you into power.
 According to another tweet a r eferendum can only work in a country where there are data base to know the number of the citizen and that it cannot work ‘’in the zoo.”
 For his part, @SaintyMartins,  said: “I think this is a way to go let the zones decide. Im sure nobody will vote against breakup.”
Meanwhile, the group wants Buhari to visit the region to see things for himself.
Its spokesman, Brigadier General Moduch Agbinibo in a statement said the President should visit  Ugborodo host to Chevron  crude oil Export terminal/EGTL gas plant, Ogulagha host to Shell Forcados Crude Oil Export terminal/tank farm, Bonny Island host to Shell Bonny Crude Oil Export terminal/NLNG gas terminal, Brass host to Agip/ENI export terminal, Ibeno host to ExxonMobil Qua Iboe crude export terminal.
‘’These are just the export terminals not talking about the numerous oil and gas flow stations and the oil Wells that crisscross the length and breadth of the Niger delta’’, the statement said, adding,   ‘’Mr. President come and see for yourself what the host communities are going through in the hands of Nigeria government and the multinationals.’’  (PointBlank News)
