EFCC Arrests Iyiola Omisore

Iyiola-Omisore
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Iyiola Omisore, a former deputy governor of Osun state.
Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesman, confirmed this on Sunday.
Although, he could not give details, Uwujaren said Omisore, a former senator, was arrested in connection with funds allegedly misappropriated by the office of the national security adviser (ONSA) during the previous administration.
The anti-graft agency had declared Omisore wanted for allegedly evading arrest, but he denied it.
Omisore, afterwards,  threatened to sue the commission for defamation, and he procured a court injunction stopping the EFCC from arresting him.
He even dared the commission by appearing on a live television programme, saying by declaring him wanted, the anti-graft agency committed the “gravest offence in the world”.
He denied receiving funds from Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser.
“There was no time that I refused to honour EFCC. The point is that a company that I guaranteed worked for the office of the former NSA (Sambo Dasuki), were paid, they even sued NSA for part of their payment, so I don’t have anything to do with that,” he had said.
“I just saw on their website that they had declared me wanted and I was surprised and highly embarrassed. I am not aware of what they are talking about. I didn’t take a kobo from NSA.
“They did not even invite me. The offence EFCC committed is the gravest in the world. I am going sue them for libel.”
