Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu flagged off his campaign in Benin city

If not for an agreement reached between former President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Adams Oshiomhole, the latter would not have won his second term in the 2012 Edo governorship election, Chief Tom Ikimi has revealed.
Ikimi, a former minister of foreign affairs, made this revelation in Benin at the campaign flag-off of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

He said if not for the agreement, Oshiomhole would not have won the election in 2012, but that after the electoral victory, the governor betrayed Jonathan.

Daily Post reports that Ikimi revealed that part of the agreement reached between Jonathan and Oshiomhole was the level-playing field the president approved during that election that got the governor victory.
