Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu, helps fan diagnosed with cancer to raise funds




The excited actress posted on her Facebook and twitter accounts: “Mayowa set for surgery now as she has more money than needed for the surgery

A popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu, has helped one of her fans, a cancer patient, to raise more than N38 million needed for surgery to save her life.
The patient, Mayowa Ahmed, is suffering from ovarian cancer.
The excited actress posted on her Facebook and twitter accounts:
“Mayowa set for surgery now as she has more money than needed for the surgery.”
Aimakhu drew nationwide attention to Ahmed after she visited her at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, where she was admitted and diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer.
Ahmed’s story was first shared on social media by concerned friends and luckily caught Aimakhu’s attention.
While her story touched some hearts, it took Aimakhu’s voice to convince many more to donate towards Ahmed’s treatment.
Aimakhu, who had been visiting Ahmed in the hospital regularly, confirmed they had received more than N38 million in donations.
Ahmed worked as the Chief Executive Officer of Hands and Fingers food in Lagos before her .
