Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo: 'I will come back much stronger'

Cristiano Ronaldo has vowed he'll come back "much stronger" from the left knee injury he suffered in Portugal's Euro 2016 final defeat of France.
The Portugal star exited the tournament's deciding match after a clash with France midfielder Dimitri Payet within the first 10 minutes though he initially tried to carry on after having his knee wrapped.
He was eventually stretchered off in visible pain the 25th minute, leaving his Portugal teammates to win the game without their captain.
The Real Madrid man had reportedly visited a clinic in Ibiza for hyperbaric oxygen therapy to speed recovery for the injury which will see him miss all of his club's preseason programme, including the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla in Trondheim on Aug. 9.
However the three-time Ballon d'Or winner used his Instagram account to update fans on his recovery.
"Hi everyone! I just wanted to thank all my fans," Ronaldo said in a video on the social media platform.
"I wanted to tell them that all is well and that I will come back much stronger.
"Thank you, long live Portugal!"
A Ronaldo-less Real Madrid will kick off their preseason campaign with an international friendly against Paris Saint-Germain on July 27 in Columbus, Ohio.
