Mamora missing in new list of envoys

Mamora Dropped
Justice George Oguntade, a retired Supreme Court Judge, and Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora, former Senator, representing Lagos State, have been dropped in the new list of non-career ambassadorial nominees,  sent to the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.

The upper chamber had rejected the old list presented two months ago, following the outcry by APC governors and even some senators about their not being consulted before the list was drawn. One of the nominees, Pauline Tallen, a former deputy governor of Plateau State, also rejected her nomination.
Also missing in the new list is Adegboyega Ogunwusi, an elder brother of the Ooni of Ife, Enitan Ogunwusi.
While states such as Lagos, Kwara, Katsina, Plateau, Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto and Zamfara have two nominees on the list, the others have one nominee each.
Abuja Senator, Phillip Aduda thanked Buhari for nominating an indigene of Abuja this time in the new list, after Senate President, Bukola Saraki read the list. Aduda had attacked the old list because it excluded Abuja.
Dr Eniola Ajayi, a former Commissioner for Education, as well as Environment, under Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and House of Reps Candidate (APC 2015), also made the list. He replaced Mr. Ayodele Ayodele, also from Iyin Ekiti.
