The Capital NG>>> Dishonesty is like dung; one goes to such great extents to commit it. But when the culprit is a young man, the stench that emanates from his treacherous act beclouds any likely reprieve he might enjoy in thought or estimation of the society.
Dark-hued Olayinka Olafimihan, the former Project Manager of Twin Passion, unarguably loves dung.
Having entrusted him with everything, Olafimihan’s employer left him to manage the affairs of the company unquestioningly, only to find out he had been defrauding the company and abusing his office.
Consequently, the company instituted legal suit against him and his cohorts in a grand larceny that threatens the fortunes of Twins Wild Passion even as you read. In the suit, the management of Twins Wild Passion seeks legal redress against Olafimihan on three counts.
In the suit titled: Commissioner of Police vs Olayinka Olafimihan, the charges are presented thus: “That you Olayinka Olafimihan ‘m’ and others now at large, between September 2014 to July 2016 as Project Manager of Twins Wild Passion No. 84, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: Stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011″
The second count, reads thus: “That you Olayinka Olafimihan ‘m’ and others now at large on the
same date and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District did forge documents to steal cash, building materials and equipments valued at One hundred and ninety nine million, seventy-four thousand, eight hundred and eighty Naira, fifteen kobo (N199,074,880.15) property of Twins Wild Passion and thereby committed an offence Contrary to Section 361 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.”
The third count presents that Olafimihan and cohorts did steal cash building materials and equipment valued at One hundred and ninety million, seventy-four thousand, eight hundred and eighty Naira, fifteen kobo (N199,074,880.15) property of Twins Wild Passion and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 285(8) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
There is no gainsaying Olafimihan has bitten the finger that fed him. Rather than stay humble and appreciative, the former project manager of Twins Wild Passion sought to destroy the company that saved him from poverty and joblessness. He decided to pay back his employer’s trust and goodwill by conniving to underlings to steal about N199 million from the company’s coffers.
However, like sewer rats fleeing the onslaught of an unrelenting charwoman, Olafimihan is running hither, thither as you read. Now that comeuppance stares him in the face, the dark menace of retribution makes a coward of him.
