Strange Illness hits Senator Buruji Kasamu, Suffers Partial Stroke

This may not be the best of time for the Senator representing Ogun East senatorial district, Prince Buruji Kasamu as the rumour mill is agog that he might have suffered partial stroke.

This is because for some time now he has not been seen at most public functions. Those who are close to the senator alleged that his chair was laced with charms, and as a result of which he developed swollen legs.

Other sources however debunked the charms' theory, alleging that some of the people who were forced to take oath with the Ogun East senator recently have discovered new techniques of reversing it. Most new converts, according to sources, are said to have introduced a caveat suggesting they will be loyal to him only "as long as he, Buruji does not disappoint them and continue to be nice to them". They however claimed that the strange illness was as a result of betrayal on his part of some of the people around him.

One of his supporters and a member of the Omo Ilu Foundation from the Ogun Central senatorial district disclosed that "for the past one month, we have not being seeing the senator. We only go to his house as usual, but we are not allowed to see him, we only sit in the compound, and sometimes at the entrance of his house. Only few people in the inner caucus have access to him. They go in and speak in hushed tones when they come out"

The source further revealed that he was able to pick one or two things on some occasions suggesting that the senator's chair had been laced with charms as a result of which he now has swollen legs."

Meanwhile, another source squealed that there is no such thing as the senator's chair being laced with "juju". "Before now, we have all been swearing oaths of allegiance to be loyal to him. But along the line some of us then started asking the question, why must it be us alone to be loyal to him, what if he stops being nice to us again? What if he stopped giving us money again? Shall we continue to remain loyal for life and be subservient to him? So we decided to be adding the words that we shall be loyal to him only as long as he does 'normal' with us. And that whoever should betray between us should face the consequence of the oath. Along the line, the senator stopped giving some people what he used to give them. So, for me o, I believe it is the repercussion that bounced back on him"

Medical officers however have a contrary opinion on this state of health. They suggest that by his sheer size, the senator is not far from such health challenges, especially considering his age. They are of the opinion that for his status, the Senator would have lived a stressful life, and this compounded with his lifestyle definitely will have a telling effect on his health.

This view was corroborated by another person who is close to the senator. "You need to see Senator Kasamu eating. He eats meats like it is going out of circulation, and he also drink heavily"

The emerging pictures from Kasamu's 59th birthday few days ago however lend credence to the rumour as the Senator was absent at most events, especially when he donated some equipment to hospitals. He was represented by some of his associates.

At the birthday event proper, most pictures that emerged showed the senator sitting while his associates struggled to pose with him. And when he attempted to move from one place to another his right hand was suspended with a limping right leg and his mouth twisted.

This fear was further accentuated at the Senate plenary last Tuesday as, despite all attempts to conceal and manage this health complications, the Ogun East senator was seen leaning on another Senator from the North, Senator Marafa.

Medical experts are of the opinion that a partial stroke on the right side of the body can be very fatal and difficult to manage in the long run. They opined that little stress is enough to trigger worse complications and total paralysis, suggesting that it is better the senator seeks urgent medical attention from professionals rather than concealing the ailment and relying on self medication.

"Just as Nigerians have been clamouring for President Buhari to disclose the nature of his sickness, all public officers should also follow suit and prove to the people they are representing that they are hale enough to discharge the responsibility for which they have been elected into office". A medical officer offered.
