GHANA: Court orders EC to delete 99 names from register

The Ho Magistrate Court has directed the Electoral Commission to expunge some 99 names from the voters' roll in the Ho central constituency of the Volta region.

This was as a result of objections raised by one Leonard Agbesi, a resident of Hodzokorfe claiming those persons were not ‘residents or ordinarily residents’ of his community, where they registered as stipulated in the Public Elections Regulation, 2016, Constitutional Instrument (C.I) 91.

Two EC officials sacked for sending voters register to Bawumia's house

Two officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) have been sacked following claims that they sent a voters' register and the verification machine to Dr Bawumia's house.

The officials, Jobey Ambrose and Mumuni Latiffa who work at the EC’s Walewale District office allegedly took the sum of GHC10,000 to breach the electoral laws of the country.
