Malabu’s $1.1b scam: EFCC plans to extraditing Adoke

The Capital NG>>> The Federal Government said yesterday that it is making necessary arrangements to extradite a former Attorney General of the Federation and Justice Minister, Mohammed Adoke, to face charges for alleged fraud.

A former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke(SAN), yesterday rejected accusation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) that he and 10 others shared $801million bribe from the auctioning of the $1.6billion Malabu Oil Block.

He branded as spurious and malicious the three charges leveled against him and the 10 others by the anti-graft agency.

The Capital NG Former President Godluck Jonathan yesterday denied collecting $466m kickback in the fraud-fraught $1.3 billion OPL 245 Malabu oil deal involving oil giants Shell and ENI.

A report by French News Agency AFP on Monday quoted Italian prosecutors as naming the former president and his Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, among those who collected the bribe after the former president met with top officials of the oil companies.

Etete, Adoke, seven others charged with $1.6b ‘fraud’

The Capital NG   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) yesterday filed nine charges bordering on alleged mismanagement of $1,616,690,656.78 Malabu Oil cash against two former ministers.

Charged are former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Chief Dan Etete, former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN) and seven others.
