The Capital NG>>> Time was, when phantoms in scarlet persistently passed as men of honour while the righteous faded in obscurity or lay spent in trenches of blood. Hence it was no surprise that some ministers and presidential aides, in desperate bid to dig their claws into President Muhammadu Buhari, bought first class tickets and flew to London to see him.
Yes, the snag was, they were uninvited; even so, they embarked on a desperate quest to establish themselves as loyalists and cronies of the incumbent president.  Thus they had sheepishly travelled to London to see him, but alas, it was big disgrace for them.

The Capital NG With about N6.215billion already spent in eight years on the new official residence of the nation’s Vice President in Abuja, the project remains enmeshed in controversy.
While the House of Representatives Committee on FCT is alleging that the job done does not commensurate with the 87 percent of the contract sum paid, no one seems to know when the project will be ready for occupation.

Nigeria launches digital switchover

NAN   Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday launched and rolled out  Digital Switch Over (DSO) on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari. The project is spearheaded by the Ministry of Information and Culture and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
Buhari said Nigeria is “irreversibly committed’’ to meeting the June 2017 deadline for transition from analogue to digital television broadcasting.

PUNCH NG The foreign trips of President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the State House headquarters will gulp about N1.05bn in the 2017 fiscal year.
Their local trips will cost the nation N353.115m.
These are some of the details of the 2017 Appropriation Bill currently before the National Assembly as obtained by our correspondent on Thursday in Abuja.
