Rihanna admits she 'tried to change' ex-boyfriend Chris Brown as she opens up on domestic abuse




Rihanna has opened up about her relationship with Chris Brown after posing for a scorching Vanity Fair cover.
The songstress, who's been soaking up all the action during Paris Fashion Week , features in the November issue of the publication.
For those who can't wait to check out the goods, the magazine have shared a sneak peak at the cover with their followers on Instagram.
It features Riri wearing a plunging turquoise playsuit and leaning against a car in Cuba.
However as sexy as it is - and rest assured it's plenty sexy - the real revealing part comes out during Rihanna's tell-all interview.
The Umbrella hitmaker opens up about everything from her reputation - at one point confessing she's actually 'boring' - all the way to her new music.
Along the way Rihanna bravely opens up about her relationship with Chris Brown , in which she was a victim of domestic abuse.
The pair were rising through the ranks of the music industry together when Chris assaulted her the night before the Grammys in 2009.
Rihanna eventually took Chris back after the attack, now confessing she thought she could 'change him'.
She explained: "I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn’t understand him. Even after… But you know, you realise after a while that in that situation you’re the enemy.
"You want the best for them, but if you remind them of their failures, or if you remind them of bad moments in their life, or even if you say I’m willing to put up with something, they think less of you - because they know you don’t deserve what they’re going to give.
"And if you put up with it, maybe you are agreeing that you [deserve] this, and that’s when I finally had to say, ‘Uh-oh, I was stupid thinking I was built for this.’ Sometimes you just have to walk away."
Rihanna is rumoured to be seeing rap sensation Travis Scott.
The par are yet to confirm their romance, but sources say they are already getting very serious .
An insider told The Sun: "Her friends think this is already her most committed relationship since Chris Brown."
