The North-central Zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has pledged to stand by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, in his corruption trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) until he is proven guilty by the court.
This position was made known in a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting in Lafia, weekend, signed by the zonal chairman Zakari Idde.
The zone called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the national leadership of the party to handle the case with caution, in the interest of the party’s stability.
It said that Saraki’s trial was negatively affecting the unity of the party in the zone, calling on the party’s leadership to explore other ways of resolving the issue.
