COVID-19: Selfless Service to Humanity! Mike Adenuga donates 1.5bn to fight virus

Mike Adenuga
In the midst of the doom and gloom, the pervasive fear of the Corona-Virus pandemic, and the flagging faith of Nigerians per their survival for the weeks ahead, the entrepreneur extraordinaire and Africa’s most illustrious investor, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jnr, GCON, CSG, CLH,has raised hopes and planted joy in the bosoms of the citizens.

The Trillionaire Businessman, through his foundation, The Mike Adenuga Foundation,  has donated an initial sum of N1billion to the Federal Government and N500million to the Lagos State government.

These would be followed by more as the need arises, according to sources close to the Spirit of Africa, as he is fondly called.

Mrs Bella Adenuga Disu delivers letter, N500m to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu
In a letter to Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, Adenuga stated, “The various timely, broad and focused measures being put in place are highly commendable and worthy of support as they shall in due course end the insidious propagation of the dreaded virus. We wish, Sir, to affirm our unequivocal readiness to work with the Lagos State government in ensuring a smooth and expeditious achievement of Your Excellency’s noble objectives.  We are to this end attaching herewith our bank cheque in the sum of Five Hundred Million naira (N500, 000, 000) as our modest initial contribution to the success of the laudable efforts being vigorously pursued under Your Excellency’s proactive and brilliant leadership.”

He added, “We shall in addition to this contribution actively continue our ongoing efforts to assist various bodies and institutions in the country with the supply of such essential items as Sanitizers, Masks, Test kits, Ventillators, PPEs and other necessary requirements.”

In a separate letter to Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Adenuga applauded the federal government’s measures to address the negative impact of COVID-19 virus on the health, finance and other sectors of the economy. He also lauded the CBN’s Nigerian Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19, which he described as a commendable and worthwhile initiative that deserves the moral and financial support of all stakeholders of the private sector.

“Given its broad scope and focused thrust, we are convinced that effective execution of the well-articulated objectives of the coalition is certain to yield the type of very positive results that will stand the country in good stead in the ongoing battle to checkmate the malignant COVID-19 virus. We are towards this end pleased to attach a bank cheque in the sum of One Billion Naira (N1, 000, 000, 000) as our modest initial contribution to the success of this welcome initiative,” Adenuga wrote.

However, Adenuga is a force of nature. A rare factor on the African continent. Some would liken him to ‘The Factor’ on the African continent, a towering force of hope and entrepreneurial depth.
Yes, If Dr.  Adenuga Jnr. doesn’t strike you, at first sight, then possibly, he is a masterpiece of a man disguised as a blank canvas. The trillionaire businessman affects a flurry of beings curled into one: he is science, an art, a foundation of genius with dashes of brilliance brightening the creativity of his mind and soul, thus illumining the world.

A product of pure intellect, vision and sheer enterprise, he can become any form he creates; he is a library of masterpieces, an intricate web of sensitivity and hope attuned in full measure to the world’s needs. This is a glimpse of who he truly is.
