2023: El-Rufai Counters Fashola On Zoning Arrangement, Says ‘It’s Absurd’

Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State has again condemned zoning of political positions adding that no country progresses with such an arrangement.

El-Rufai who reiterated his stance on the zoning of political leaderships in the country insisted every qualified person should be given equal opportunity to contest for political positions.

Fashola Fails As As Power Generation Drops Again, Darkness Looms

PointBlank News     The nation’s power generation capacity has dropped from 3,959 megawatts on
January 4 to 2,662 megawatts on January 22, according to the Transmission
Company of Nigeria.
The Nigerian Electricity System Operator’s website, a sub agency of TCN,
disclosed the figure in its daily forecast on power generation data in
Lagos on Sunday.

Power Minister, Babatunde Fashola Awards $800 Million Contracts To Crony

Despite the anti-corruption posture of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, 
there are pointers to the fact that the government is not transparent in some of its dealings. 

A recent report published by the PREMIUM TIMES indicated that the administration is 
scheming to grant special, but illegal concession to an American power distribution company for the rehabilitation of high-voltage transmission lines across the country, in a deal that could breach the country’s extant procurement provisions.

This newspaper said it obtained documents showing how bureaucrats and politicians are strategising to award the $800 million contract to CTC Global, an electric utility firm based in California.

24 states ready to collaborate with FG on mass housing


Minister of Works, Power and Housing Babatunde Fashola

Mr Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, on Friday disclosed that 24 states had volunteered land to the Federal Government to begin its mass housing initiative.
Fashola made the disclosure in Lagos at the maiden edition of Real Estate and Housing Lecture organised by City People Magazine.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the lecture was entitled: “Moving the Real Estate Sector Forward, My Thought, My Experience.’’
“Twenty four states have given us the land that we require to start,’’ he said.
