Samsung boss Jay Lee jailed for bribery

A court on Friday sentenced the billionaire head of South Korea’s Samsung Group, Jay Lee, to five years in prison for bribery.
After a six-month trial over a scandal that brought down the then president, Park Geun-hye, a court ruled that Lee had paid bribes in anticipation of favors from Park.
The court also found Lee guilty of hiding assets abroad, embezzlement and perjury.
Lee, the 49-year-old heir to one of the world’s biggest corporate empires, has been held since February on charges that he bribed Park to help secure control of a conglomerate that owns Samsung Electronics,.

Humans to live up to 120 years by 2030

• Study predicts average age of 90 by 2027 with advances in medical science, investments in health care
• Walking improves quality in people with advanced cancer • Survivors who worked out were about 40% less
likely to die from disease • Regular exercise in middle-age increases chances of surviving stroke
Following advances in medical science and investments in health care, a new study has predicted that most humans will live up to 120 years by 2030 and average life expectancy will soar into the 90s in many parts of the world in a decade.

NAN The U.S. warned North  Korea on Wednesday that any use of nuclear weapons against South Korea would “be met with effective and overwhelming response”.
The warning was contained in a statement issued jointly on Wednesday by the Governments of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and the U.S. after the inaugural meeting of the Extended Deterrence Strategy and Consultation Group (EDSCG) in Washington, D.C.
